Criminal Mischief
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Larimer County Sheriff's Office is asking for help from citizens
regarding extensive criminal mischief that is taking place in the
northwest section of Larimer County. Deputies have reported widespread
spray paint graffiti and shotgun damage throughout the area.
In October of last year, roads in the Poudre Canyon seemed to be the
target. In December, January and March of this year, signs and other
equipment along Red Feather Lakes Road, Prairie Divide Road, Cherokee
Park Road, Bellaire Lakes Road and the Owl Canyon Road have been the
subjects of the damage. In addition to other vandalism, two Coloradoan
newspaper boxes also have been taken. The damage to this point amounts
to more than $20,000.
While no suspect information is available, deputies believe the suspect
or suspects are driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle, SUV or high profile
pick-up with aggressive tread mud and snow 8" wide tires.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Crime
stoppers at 221-6868. Callers remain anonymous and may be eligible for
a reward. Those with information also may call Deputy Earl Fawcett at
498-5511.
