DETAILS: On Tuesday, 9-4-07 Officer H. Bowen took a stolen vehicle report in the 4400 block of Ridgway. Officer Bowen was told that the victim's car was stolen between 9-2-07 at 1700 hours and 9-3-07 at 1300 hours. The vehicle was recovered in the same neighborhood by the victim. The victim had a handgun in the trunk, the handgun; a Springfield XD .45, black was stolen. There were two magazines fully loaded with a total of 25 rounds with the handgun. The handgun was in a black nylon holster.

On 09-05-07 Officer K. Jakobsson took a report in the area of W. 46th & Lucerne that an unknown suspect shot at a front end loader damaging the windshield and mirror. This incident happened between 9-4-07 at 1730 hours to 09-05-07 at 0800. A bullet was recovered in the cab of the front end loader that appeared to be a .45 caliber, the same caliber as the stolen handgun. There was a police dispatch call on 09-05-07 around 0300 hours of shots heard in the area northwest of 37th and Taft.

These two incidents may be connected.
